Meet the hounds

Today I went up to the SPCA with my mom. There are lots and lots of hound dogs that just arrived. It is different from the huskies because the huskies had to be kept in cages but the hounds are all together. The girls are in one room the boys are in one room. Some of them are very, very shy. My mom didn't want me to go into the room with them until she was sure they were nice but I got to see them all through the door window. They came from a lady who didn't take them for walks. She didn't take care of them at all. They pooped in the house and didn't have enough food to eat. They are very skinny. Today I spent around 1 hour.

Update: May 21. Only two hounds are still at the SPCA. Some were adopted and some went to rescues to find homes. I am sure they will be happy now.

Update: June 5. Walker, a very shy hound was taken into foster by eleven eleven rescue. His new foster "mom" is very committed to helping him become a "normal" dog. Thank god there are people out there willing to take on the more difficult animals. Without them, many would never get a second chance.
