The 3 dog transport

Today me, my mom, Dorothy and David transported 3 cute, cute, cute dogs from a pound where they would not keep them anymore. They were being rescued by Paws for Life. It was really fun! There were two big dogs and one small dog. Even though we were in a big van they all crowded in the front. The little dog Dori kept jumping on David's lap even though he was driving. We had to take Sisi who is the white dog to the vet because she had a bladder infection and could not pee. We had to wait at the vet a long time while she got x-rays and tests. On the way to the fosters Harley, the golden retriever sat on my mom's lap for the whole ride.

Sisi's owners just dropped her off at the pound because they were moving. That is a really dumb reason. There are a lot of people who just decide to stop taking care of their animals. It makes me feel very angry that people don't take care of their animals. My mom said imagine how Sisi feels being sick and scared and not even knowing any of us. Dori got dropped off at the pound because her owners had a baby and didn't want to keep her anymore. Harley was found by somebody but nobody came to find him. Paws for Life found them foster homes to stay at and then they will be adopted. I hope the people who adopt them are nice and responsible. I am glad that there are nice people to help take care of animals that don't have homes. Today I spent 6 hours because it took a long time at the vet.

Note: Paws for Life rescues many dogs and cats from high kill pounds. The rescue pays the release fees, has each animal vet checked and then sends them to foster homes where they are safe until adopted. Most rescues are foster based. If you aren't sure you can commit long term to a dog but would like to help one in need on a temporary basis, fostering is a great way to support the rescues. Transporting animals from the pound to fosters or to the vet is also an important way to contribute your time. CK

  1. I am simply amazed at how well written and powerful this blog is!!! I hope that people who are thinking about adopting a dog or cat reads it. They would truly be convinced. Too bad that I'm not nearer because I would gladly foster animals. But I certainly am going to use your idea of making a donation to a shelter in someone's name as a gift. What wonderful big hearts you and all the rest of your family members have. You keep writing; I'll keep reading!
